Engr. Ahmadu Kida Musa, Ph.D

Engr. Ahmadu-Kida MUSA was born on 3rd February 1961 and hails from Borno State, Nigeria. Popularly known as Kida, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering from the prestigious French Petroleum Institute (IFP), France. He concluded a Doctorate Degree and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Credit Management by the International University of Panama.

Kida joined Total Exploration & Production Nigeria (TEPNG), formerly Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited in 1985 as a Trainee Engineer in the Engineering and Construction Projects Department, holding several positions as well as managing several of Total’s multi-billion-dollar Engineering and Construction projects within and outside Nigeria.

He was appointed to the position of Deputy Managing Director Deepwater District on August 01, 2015 and was responsible for managing and safely operating Two (2) World Class FPSO’s located offshore in Gulf of Guinea in a Deepwater Field operated by Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria. His career in TEPNG spanned 35 years in the oil and gas industry until he retired in September 2020.

Kida attended several professional and executive management courses at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School in the United States. He is a chartered Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) as well as a registered Member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is also a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (International).

Kida has received several distinguished Awards and Honours for his exemplary character, philanthropic gesture, excellence in mentorship and service to humanity, and is an avid Basketball Player, currently steering the affairs of the Game of Basketball in Nigeria in his capacity as the President of the Board of the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF).

He is happily married and blessed with four children.
